REAL Nanaimo is a coordinated group of municipal candidates who share a common governance framework focused on responsible financial management, transparent decision-making, and collaborative leadership.

The team formed following repeated concerns expressed by residents regarding rising costs, public safety, borrowing transparency, and overall confidence in municipal governance. While each candidate brings distinct professional and community experience, they are aligned around shared principles that guide their approach to local government.

Municipal councils operate by majority vote. When elected members share a common governance philosophy, that philosophy influences budgeting decisions, procedural standards, and long-term planning. REAL Nanaimo operates as a team to provide clarity about its shared framework and how members intend to approach municipal responsibilities.
